I've known Emily since I was in junior high! We didn't know each other super well, but I was good friends with her cousin {Laura} and saw Emily at football games here and there and I always thought she was just the sweetest! She really is just SO kind. So of course when she asked me to photograph their big day, I was stoked.
Being a March wedding, we decided to shoot her bridals in January at a family friends *gorgeous* house. I am a sucker for some outdoor shots and with Arkansas weather, it wasn't too cold to do some! The best of both worlds! I was able to shoot at this house in 2015 when Laura was getting married -- we also did her bridals there. Which was a slight advantage because I knew how the lighting and layout was.
It was a fun shoot all around, Laura did Emily's make up and was such a big help through out the whole session. And they were hilarious together. You know when you're working but doesn't feel like work? That's how this was. <3
So, here are some of my favs <3

You guys, it has been a long time since we've made a blog post. A year and a half, to be exact. Life has a funny way of working. When we decided to merge & create TKC, we had no idea where life was leading us. I, Courtney, welcomed our second child -- our baby girl, Vivian, into the world while Samantha & Nick took on the amazing adventure of opening up a fresh, beautiful, all-white wedding & event venue in Mulberry, AR -- The Kindred Barn {gorgeous, right?!}.
Juggling life, children, photo shoots, and weddings.. blogging got pushed to the back burner. But I am here to change that! I am so excited to begin blogging some of my favorite and most meaningful shoots and weddings to come in 2017! If I am being honest here, I am far from good with words, so I can only hope you bear with me if I start to bore you ;)
We are getting a taste of how close S P R I N G is & it sure is wonderful. I know I am not the only one jumping for joy at the sight of a single colorful flower after all this brown, dead grass for months. {right?!} My solution for this issue was to do greenhouse mini sessions! Oh, it's cold and windy? No problem.
When Maggie { Maggie Sheffield Photography } reached out to me wanting to book one, I was immediately pumped. I mean, i've seen photographs of her family -- they are adorable! And it is always nice to photograph a fellow photographer!
I met them at Neumeier Nursery and as soon as I took the first few photos, I knew I was going to adore this session. It's beneficial being a mother while being a photographer. I always try to do poses, or "non-poses" to capture moments I would want of my family & I. Children will look back on these and cherish them, show them to their children, and so on. Documenting these emotions is so important. Times goes far too quick.
A huge shout out and thanks to Neumeier Nursery for always being welcoming and kind & allowing us to borrow their greenhouse! You guys should go check them out for all your gardening needs!
I promise to get better at this blogging thing ;) Hopefully these precious images make up for what I lack in writing.

Dru is such a character, but one of the cutest ever!

As some of you know, I LOVE to have people in our home. I'm especially excited for the holidays as they draw nearer. Last Christmas season we had over 100 families in and out for the Christmas minis. It's just so special to me to bring people into our cozy home. I wanted to get everyone together but I absolutely HATE going to restaurants, sitting at long tables and then leaving without getting to visit with everyone. So we kept the party at home and man, was it worth it! We catered mexican food from La Huerta and had so many left overs!

You guys, JUST earlier this week I was in Suite One and saw their Giving Key display and wanted one soooo badly. I was so excited to open one up from my bestie, Sarah! I literally screamed! She wrote the sweetest card and chose the word Inspire. It's my greatest hope through this journey in photography, that I am able to inspire others to go after their dreams; no matter the level of crazy!
Courtney whipped up this awesome photographer survival kit. I just love it so much!
I'm so thankful for all of my friends and for the grace lavished upon me by God for allowing me to live another year! Every year keeps getting better. Nick and I will soon celebrate four years of marriage; time truly flies when you're having fun. I pray you all embrace each birthday as they come and that each year gets sweeter and that you keep dreaming bigger <3

Again, thank ya'll so much for your extreme support over our new venture! We will be introducing the other new members of the TKC team super soon. Here's a hint, I took this photo of their baby last weekend during a "business meeting" <3

It’s now almost August of 2015 and that’s exactly what we’re doing: E X P A N D I N G. At a certain point, once your dreams have come true, God simply asks you to dream bigger. So this is where we are at, plain and simple.
It was keeping me up at night {not just the editing} but the fact that I was having to say no, a shaky no, to potential new clients. So much of my business runs off word of mouth. I have poured myself out tirelessly to so many of you to build a good rapport. I’m humbled daily when someone reaches out for my services and tells me who sent them over. I literally thrive off it. As I closed out booking for my fall mini sessions a few days ago, I still had so many EXISTING clients that were left without a time slot. This basically would not do.
It is with great pleasure and confidence that I bring on someone who has been behind the scenes with me for nearly two years. Some of you have seen her with me at weddings, or the many sessions she has frequented. The thing I most admire about Courtney, other than our ability to laugh about things uncontrollably, is her willingness to learn.
My story with Courtney started out similar to how it began with some of you reading this. It was November of 2012 and she was smack dab in the middle of wedding planning. One thing lead to another and she booked me as her engagement and wedding photographer. By March of 2014 she shot her first wedding with me and I taught her how to operate her camera in the manual setting. Our relationship grew and grew and now she has my editing process down and edits full weddings for me. A tiny chat about working together in this amazing life as photographers has lead to this announcement: Samantha Daniels Photography + Courtney Ann Photography = THE KINDRED COLLECTIVE
I’m going to give you a second to let that name set in and allow you to look the word up in the dictionary for a better understanding. No, Courtney and I aren’t kinfolk but we are closely related through experiences and the things that bring us joy. We are {kindred spirits}. We want the photography experience from start to finish to be effortless and full of skill. We want to provide the best customer service, actually we constantly look for ways to go above and beyond. We actually won’t stop at this expansion. We want to bring on other artists who want to perfect their skill and learn from us and our experiences. Basically we want to accommodate every one who wants a session with us. We have already received such amazing feedback and Courtney has been able to schedule some of my returning clients for her fall mini session dates she has open. We have literally felt nothing but open arms and hearts from some of our dearest clients and we are eternally thankful.
Thank you guys so much for being so excited for us and willing to allow this change a place in your future plans for your photography needs. We would like to compile a FAQ blog post as our next post to answer any questions or concerns you may have for this new venture! Maybe a free session is in it for whomever asks the best question :)
Deeply and sincerely,
THE KINDRED COLLECTIVE.
